Given artists’ central importance to the health and vitality of the arts and the tough economics of their work lives, Arts, Culture & Civic Change plays a key role in expanding prospects for them to pursue their work and service. Many of these artists’ practices are essential to the identity of specific communities and central to their systems of social and economic support, as well as their resistance to forms of oppression and discrimination.
Our Creative Producer team and Arts Committee acts directly with young people to redraw and redesign lines of direct action to strengthen the social and physical fabric of marginalised communities, engage young people in their own education, and spur people’s engagement in civic issues and the democratic process.
