PBC Go Play Team Celebrates Massive Month of Community Action in May

Find out what PBC have been up to over the May holidays creating fun, games and crafts for young people across Sandwell.

The PBC Go Play team experienced an exceptionally busy and successful May, marked by a major shift to outdoor activities, vibrant half-term programming, and a highly successful community event at the Oak Tree Centre.

Outdoor Transitions and Half-Term Highlights
With the arrival of warmer weather, the team successfully transitioned its core delivery sessions to outdoor spaces. This move allowed local youth to engage in dynamic, open-air play and physical activity.
The momentum continued straight into the school half-term break. The team deployed a packed schedule of targeted holiday activities designed to keep young people active, creative, and safe. A major highlight of the month was the special event hosted at the Oak Tree Centre, which brought together families from across the area for an afternoon of inclusive games and community celebration.
May Impact by the Numbers
The scale of last month’s community outreach is reflected in the team’s final delivery metrics:
  • 99 hours of direct, active session delivery.
  • 756 local children supported and engaged across all sites.
Summer Preparations Underway
The team is not slowing down as the calendar turns. Outdoor delivery will continue throughout June, serving as a vital building block for the upcoming summer months.
“May proved just how much demand there is for accessible, high-quality play in our community,” said a PBC Go Play spokesperson. “Our focus now is keeping this energy alive through June as we scale up for our biggest summer holiday period yet.”
