Jerrel Jackson(he/him)

Co-founder & Chief Executive Officer (CEO)

Jerrel is a neurodivergent leader with over 15 years of experience in the social, cultural, education and voluntary sector. With a passion for inclusion and leadership, and taking direct action against inequality and injustice. Jerrel co-founded Powered by CAN at the age of 25 to ensure all children and young people aged 6-25 are equipped to thrive and empowered to contribute at every stage of their lives to take the lead. He has also toured across several countries to strengthen his international relationships and leadership enquiry with children and young people across the sub-sectors of cultural education, creative industries, cultural diversity, community regeneration and creative economy.

Jerrel currently sits on several strategic boards, including the Cultural Leadership Board at West Midlands Combined Authority, Place-Based Peer Learning Programme Steering Committee at Arts Council England, Committee Board at Midlands Metropolitan University Hospital, Industry Advisory Group at University of Leeds and Advisory Committee at Fair Education Alliance.
