What do your day-to-day activities involve?
My day-to-day activities mostly include supervising young people as they take part in activities and games, giving advice to young people when they come and speak to me about problems they have in their everyday life. Making sure everyone who attends the session feels included. Also encouraging the young people to engage in new opportunities to show their creative sides they hide. They are all hidden gems
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I enjoy seeing young people have a space where they can be themselves, being around staff members who they can relate to and count on. All the young people are hidden gems. I enjoy chatting with the young people to reach their goals/full potential. Seeing them reach their goals is a reward in itself. I also enjoy, when I’m outside of work hours and the young people see me, they approach me with such confidence and joy and they like to stop me in my tracks and have a chat, which makes my day.
